Butwitheachpassingday,theworkgotharder.Thesunbeatdownharder,andthecropsbecameheavier.Jack'smusclesached,andhisbodygrewtired.Buthenevergaveup.Hepushedthroughthepain,knowingthattherewardwouldbeworthit.Finally,thedayarrivedwhenthelastcropwasharvested.Thefieldswereempty,andthebasketswerefull.ItwasabittersweetmomentforJack.Ononehand,hewasgladthatthehardworkwasover.Ontheotherhand,hewassadthattheharvestseasonhadcometoanend.
